The truth about today's workplace

Research shows that humans currently spend 21 hours per day in sedentary activities such as sitting and sleeping. Our bodies are not meant for this level of inactivity. This inactive lifestyle, which is facilitated by most workplaces, comes with risks that include heart disease, obesity, diabetes and depression. Even regular exercise cannot offset the risks associated with long periods of sitting.
For employers, prolonged periods of physical inactivity that come with sitting at a desk for 8-10 hours per day can result in absenteeism, lost productivity, turnover and a high cost of benefits.
